Man I have no respect for De La Hoya any more. I don't know if you guys read USA Today, But in the Friday Issue he was on the front page saying how he was going to try and clean up boxing and make it a legitamite sport again. But after this fight, he made the "sport" take about 3 steps back. It hurts me as a former De La Hoya fan, to know he as just a corrupt as the whole "sport" of boxing. Sturm totally out boxed Oscar, He landed more shots at a higher percentage and the judges were way off on the score card. I agree with Harold Lettermans card, and he had Sturm winning by 2 rounds. Shit, man just look at there faces, Oscar was bleeding profusly out of his nose and Sterm looked no worse for ware. It was a sad night, last night.

maybe they were giving him a break from the shitty judges from the De La Hoya - Mosley fight which clearly Oscar won.........even shane mosleys dad thought Oscar won but later tried to say that he didn't say anything like that

I Disagree slightly...I Don't think Sturm did enough to get the win from a superstar boxer, why...because 98% of his punches were jabs! and thats not exagerating a bit. Oscar lit his ass up with combos almost every round, but because Strum jabbed him at will it seemed like Oscar was getting beat. So from a pure boxers point of view Oscar looked better on the offensive, but just looked really bad defensivley. I didnt have a strong belief of who one either way, so i would have said a draw. I just believe you have to do more than jab to win a fight unless its obvious its really hurting the opponent like Larry Holmes jabs did. The jab is the setup punch not the total package. The thing is though Oscar just knew he was going to get a knockout early so he ran out of steam quick, but im not sure he has the power for a middle weight it seemed like he couldn't hurt Strum, so i'll expect Hopkins maybe to win. If Sturm would have mixed it up a little instead of jab jab and then run the last 10 seconds of every round maybe the call would have looked bad, but It wasnt a bad call to me and certainly not "bad for boxing"!

A rematch hehe come on now!! Would you want to see a rematch? Boxing is a business you know. Shitty one on some peoples part but thats why he'll fight Hopkins now, cause its a business. Pitter Patter figters dont win fights and like i said he ran the last 10 seconds of every round that wasnt smart it was disrespectful to people who paid to see a "fight".

if you want to see real fighting, watch K-1. Bob Sapp 6'7" 350lbs. he's a monster. i don't think he's ever been beaten. tyson was asked if he would ever fight him using boxing federation rules and tyson said "hell no!" K-1 is on espn2 sometimes but is on pay-per-view every month.

Sapp sux dude he gets his ass beat all the time!! Crocop took him out with a body kick  K1 fuckin rules though! And Pride fighting is really good now days with the whole team Gracie vs. team Japan thing, gracies suck too though now anyone see pitbull gracie get knocked out in 6 seconds last week? hehe An the whole running away part i mentioned above was the disrespectful thing i was talking about.

For those of you who said oscar won because of the power punches needs to see the fight stats, Sturm didn't throw as many but landed only a few less at a much higher percentage, Most of de la hoyas body blows were glancing off of the forearms anyone watching that figh knows the only reason sturm didn't win is because he was fighting a big name in boxing, if that would have been sturm vs. joe blow sturm would have been the victor.

He ran the last 10 seconds because he was smart de la hoya didn't do shit the whole round and then would try to steal it at the end with a flurry, He ran so de la hoya couldn't steal the round, but instead he stole the whole fight.

well ole MIke got his ass beat last night!! Sux if you ask me. He got bombarded with punch after punch in the 4th and went down. He wasn't even seriously hurt at all, he was just too tired really. I just don't think his heart is in it anymore. Sad to say this is probably the end of the road for him.

He didnt even try to get up. His trainers hand picked his opponent. They other guy obviously did his homework, after the bout, he even told reporters that he knew Tyson would tire out. He waited for it to happen then just pounded on iron mike..
You could see it in Tysons eyes after the fight that he was just stunned.. he didnt look the same afterwards. It too bad, Mike used to be a bad dude.hes 5-4-2 in his last 11 fights. Well, theres always video of him in his hey day...

Bernard Hopkins and Oscar De la hoya...Hopkins gets the ko from a body shot in the 9th!! Looked like a weak shot too, he needs to stay away from the big boys. He was doing damn well till he hit the mat too.

Now yall know Tyson has signed on to fight in K-1 right. Hasn't made all the major headlines for some reason. We are gonna get to see mike kicking and taking kicks, and its gonna be some wild ass shit. I bet they give him 1 or 2 bottom of the barrel fighters at first, then they will put in big ass Sapp in there with him. They've already gotten into it. Rumour has it that Delahoya bet all his money AGAINST himself.... then lost purposely. I watched the fight, it did look like a weak ass punch to the liver... how many times have we seen a KO by a liver shot? It was a close fight, some people even had Oscar ahead.... maybe he wanted to go down, only after he proved to himself taht he could of won.
If it is true i dont blame him. He has been screwed so many times throught his career...

I would pay big money to see Tyson fight a gorilla or a kangaroo. They would be muzzled of course for Mike's safety...maybe Mike would have to be muzzled too. Anyways, it's only a matter of time before he starts fighting animals, i hope anyhow.

WOOOOOOOOOOO Glen Johnson knocked out Roy Jones jr. last night!!!! That was the worst knockout i ever saw!! He did not move the slightest for 4 fucking minutes. I thought he was dead!! His head bounced of the mat 2 times when he fell!! Serious concussion and left for the hospital. Two knockouts in 2 fights, its time to quit Roy. Its time for a whole new generation of boxers to come in and wipe the slate clean. There are alot of good non pro boxers coming up especially in the heavy weight division. Within the next 2 years there is gonna be new sprouting legends working their way up, and i can't wait!! Sux to end such a great career this way but its better that Roy not fight anymore :(

Damn this thread was started by me saying Mike Tyson got his ass beat. Well it happened again tonight. He actually gave up this time in the 6th. Said he won't fight again to disrespect the sport and he only fought to pay the bills. Start your fuck Mike posts if you want but i will miss the pervert. 50 years from now there will be movies made about him because he is the oddest most exciting figure in sports history. I remember Larry Holmes saying that Tyson will be dead by the age 50. I am somehow almost sure of it. Thats only a few years away, and i must say..."may he rest in hell". http://sports.yahoo.com/box

Tyson is still a boxing legend, for all his out-of-the-ring problems and notable in-the-ring incidents, much of it his own fault, he was in his day the best heavyweight. As far as i'm concerned people can keep their lumbering giants like Lewis and co, the best two and most entertaining heavyweight boxers in the last 25 years have been Tyson and Holyfield.
A seriously fucked-up dude, but one hell of a good fighter when he was at his best.

Tyson will always be remember for his crushing Knock out blows more than he will for trying to headbutt Mcbride. Tyson is just to old, he should throw in the towel for good. But the way he is leaving is shitty, trying to cheat to win. No class. I still like the man, but its just not cool at all. The funny thing about this is Mcbride is gunna think hes all hot shit for his win, but its not really that big of a deal now. Its not like it was when Buster douglas beat Tyson back when Iron Mike was in his prime. That was huge. This fight is just about as big of a deal as when your local mayor gets outstead by an underdog running for office.

In boxing there wasn't a more exciting thing to see than Mike in his prime ripping all comers apart.. I think the main reason why Mike's tried comeback after comeback is because the fans have desperately wanted him to get back on top and leave on a decent note.. It will not happen that way and although he will definitely be best remembered for his days in his prime, he will always have a tarnished career and that is sad..

Well Jermain Taylor just beat Bernard Hopkins. Actually i thought Hopkins won by 1 round. Probably not enough to get the belt, but then again i didn't think Taylor won by enough margin to get Hopkins belt in the first place. Boxing pisses me off every fuck'n time i watch it. The politics involved are way over the line. When you see with your own eyes which guy lands more punches, better punches, and in the end you see the stats verify exactly what you just witnessed, along with some guy who looks like he was in a car wreck and the other looks like he took a morning jog, then doesn't that mean the fighter won the mutherfucking fight!?! Something big needs to happen in boxing, and i don't mean the ring.

Very good fight here. Sugar Shane tried to take the title from Cotto but the Puerto Rican star proved why he's one the the best pound for pound as he remained undefeated with a unanimous victory.

I was sorry to see Chria Arreola get beat last Saturday, but that's what you get for being named after a woman's tit nipple.
Anyway, what do you guys think about Mayweather/Mosley this weekend? Frankly I'm sick of listening to his big money mouth, I hope Sugar Shane beats his ass. And he's got a more than fair chance of doing it. Otherwise, it will probably be Manny Pacquiao, who is rightfully the best pound for pound boxer today, since Floyd keeps retiring and only sticking his head out once in a while when he feels full of piss and vinegar.
I like both Money and Shane. But I'm slightly favouring Mosely, his last match was something else. Goddamn that speed and power.
About Pac. He's weird. He jumped out of the match because Mayweather asked for olympic style drug test. And Pacs camp said he's afraid of needles. WTF? Dude's got massive tattoos and is afraid of needles. But in the ring he's so good people don't mind he can't sing but they still let him sing :D

I think it was insulting to him about the drug testing thing. He said he didn't even know anything about steroids...he's a real family man and religious. I think Floyd was trying to wiggle out of that one, coming up with all this shit. I mean, come on, he knew Manny wasn't on drugs. Just like he's running his mouth now about Shane being on steroids. He's full of shit. That's one of the reasons I hope Mosley beats the piss out of him.

Well, Amir Khan made short work of Paulie Malagnaggi last night. Paulie didn't keep his hands up...looked like the problem to me. But the main thing I couldn't understand was the interview with Amir after the fight. What the fuck was he saying? I thought he was English, but he sounded like a Pakistani with an English accent. Then he started sounding like a Scotsman. Damn! He could be a success over here if he'd learn how to talk.
(Don't tell him I said that).

Remember boys, Yuri Foreman vs. Miguel Cotto tonight on HBO..:)
A Puerto Rican vs A Jew - putting it like this It's obvious who wins.
I'm more than sure Cotto will take this one, yes he has lost 2 of his last bouts but still... plus he's been working with the best trainer in the world (Yea, suck on that Roger and Freddy).

Well, you were right, KA. Cotto definitely out-boxed him. But Foreman showed a lot of balls after he hurt his leg and kept fighting limping around.
