The result of a discussion found here (http://www.nudecelebforum.com/t90197-filehost-rant.html), this list will hopefully help keep uploaders aware of problematic file hosts and help keep files accessible to everyone. Help us expand it! If you know of a file host that fits either of these categories, please list them in a reply (or PM (http://www.nudecelebforum.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=135879)) along with the category they fall under. I will update this list as more hosts are submitted.

NOTE: This list is for information purposes only. This is NOT the official list of banned file hosts (unless noted below). The Official NCF Banned File Host List is part of the Forum Rules (http://www.nudecelebforum.com/announcement.php?f=15&a=5) and can be found there instead.

File hosts that require a paid premium account to download files :
(all premium-only file hosts are banned per forum rules 07a & 07b)

http://www.mojofile.com
http://filecamp.com
https://md5file.com
http://www.safesync.com/
http://filetechnology.com (banned if over 200MB)
http://www.filehost.ws (banned if over 100MB)

File hosts that have country restrictions:

http://storebit.net
http://www.unibytes.com
http://turbobit.net (banned)
http://www.edoc.com/

Other questionable file hosts:

http://www.filefactory.com (very limited # of global d/l slots)
http://www.uploading.com (3 downloads per day max)
http://www.share-files.com (taking surveys required to d/l)

(Special thanks to yakovitch (http://www.nudecelebforum.com/member.php?u=25650) & pervmann2000 (http://www.nudecelebforum.com/member.php?u=109986) for prompting the creation of this thread.)

No luck. I'm pretty sure it will work if I used a proxy. Thanks for the feedback.

The "General failure." error means that either your ping is not getting outside of your local network or something is blocking it. There is a quick & easy way to tell if it's something on your end or something on their end. Restart -> keep tapping F8 -> at the Safe Mode screen, select "Safe Mode with Networking". Once it's loaded up, try pinging bitshare.com both by host name and also by IP address.

If both will ping in Safe Mode, the problem is security software or a firewall on your comp. If it will ping by IP but not the domain name, it's a DNS issue. If neither will ping, it's definitely a problem on their end.

If it does turn out to be an issue on their end, I'm certain it's not caused by a country restriction because we are both in the U.S. w/ U.S. IP addresses...just different ISPs. However, it is possible that they may have your ISP blocked or possibly just your IP range...but we'd need another Comcast user to help us to confirm that.

uploading.com is also questionable. free users may only download 3 or 5 files a day no matter what the total size of the files is. 3 or 5 because I don't remember if the files I downloaded last night count as today or not (time zone issue).

EDIT: I downloaded 1 20mb file today and then I tried to download another one:

Sorry, you have reached your daily download limit.
Please try again tomorrow or acquire a premium membership.

uploaded.to doesn't block American ips any more. And hasn't for a month. Not sure if it blocks anyone else(though I doubt it).

I can vouch for the U.S. at least. Their downloads are working for me on both domains. I can't speak for the powers that be, but the admins may (or may not) take this into consideration if uploaded.to/ul.to no longer has any country restrictions in place. Thanks for the info!

I can corroborate the U.S. availability, actually works quite well for me.

First time I've come across this host: http://www.pigsonic.com/, haven't as of yet been able to even get to the dl link (connection times out). Anyone else have any experience with them?

On a side note, since I mentioned the netload resurgence in another thread speeds have drastically plummetted... coincidence?

Why don't people use mediafire, I downloaded a 200mb file a couple of days ago and it took about 15-20 minutes to complete.

Subject to bandwidth may I add as a disclaimer.

mediafire is great for downloaders but not so much for uploaders.
Web upload is the only option for uploaders with free account. While it's stable, my general observation is that upload speeds are relatively slow compared to some other hosts.

They are also quick to terminate entire accounts if they get any dmca notices (3 strikes maybe). Generally speaking, this is a good thing but uploaders don't like it so much. Like RS, mediafire also don't offer any rewards for downloads/premium sales.

Like RS, mediafire also don't offer any rewards for downloads/premium sales.

That pretty much says it all... in the poll from the 'Best Filehost for Downloading' thread mediafire & rapidshare account for 21 of the 29 total votes, with oron the only other to receive more than 1 vote. It's this pervading mentality to make a buck off of anything and everything, I guarantee you if they started offering rewards (which I hope they never do) you'd see them being used a lot more around here.

Uploaded.to/ul.to has been removed from the list as their country restrictions have been lifted. They have also been removed from the NCF Banned File Host List (http://www.nudecelebforum.com/announcement.php?f=15&a=5).

Thanks BlueShinobi for the heads-up!

Firstly THANK YOU for the efforts in all you guys do

To the subject at hand;
May I say that I have had a lot of trouble from extabit.com.
Might be a country restriction, but not so sure.

Anyone else have a bad experience with Rapidgator ?

yakovitch
06-13-2012, 09:47 PM
I'd just like to show some support for rapidgator... works quite well for me here in the midwest U.S. (with a premium account). I know there's a member here who's currently lobbying against them, I'd like to know a little more about the nature of his/her experiences with them if possible.

I've seen one member saying he never had a successful d/l from them.
I have successful d/ls, but I get hit with a new window like Livejasmin everytime I click a link, even the captcha box.

I think that member is me. I have never had a successful dl from Rapidgator. Then again I don't have a premium account either.

I had a recent experience with HotFile,I've downloaded about 15 files with no captchas asked and at aroungd 600-700 kb/s (no premium account).Reminded me of the good old Megaupload.

Yeah, currently Hotfile, Zippyshare (or something like that) are the best. Currently downloading a 1.3gb file from ryushare.com for the first time, so far so good. Just 30 seconds wait time with no catchpa.

Mediafire has devolved from Great to good. They've added catchpa.

Rapidshare sucks balls for free users. I downloaded the same file as above as free user and the download failed twice, first time after 400MB (at 30kbps) and second time after 40mb.

You get the captcha box only if you download many files in a short period. I think that's acceptable. MF is still the best for downloaders by far.
Hotfile is pretty good but unfortunately, the files don't stay alive for long. They are very quick to terminate entire accounts. HF posts usually have dead links.
With regards to rapidgator, I dont' download a lot but I've been successful in downloading reasonably large files (~200MB) at 150-200 KBPS as a free user. It is certainly not the the worst filehost out there.
I am considering uploading my files to http://www.freeuploads.fr. To me, it looks like a great host. I'm able to download at speeds >1MBPS as a free user.

There's a new (to me) file host being used... http://azushare.net. I haven't been able to dl anything from 3 different links so far (dl never starts). Anyone know anything about this host?

Also, I don't know how many of you are aware of this but Oron could well be the next host to go down as a lawsuit has been filed against them. Here's a link for those interested, http://newswire.xbiz.com/view.php?id=150218.

Ptenisnet

I got "Connection failed: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1040] Too many connections" when I clicked on an azushare link.
If it doesn't work for any of the other mods, it will most likely be banned.

update: azushare appears to be working now.

It probably has something to do with this... http://torrentfreak.com/paypal-bans-major-file-hosting-services-over-piracy-concerns-120710/. Greed is eventually going to kill file-sharing, that much seems evident.

Oron browser download seems to be working here. Haven't tried with jdownloader yet. I've been having issues with it, probably the new update will fix it.

Deposhitfiles - well, as I only use jdownloader I did not have the isse you guys talked about above. Oh and they've added this fantastic feature for free users - they allow continuing paused or broken downloads. Speeds are still shit though.

Gamefront.com seems to be the best right now.

Now multiple sites are saying Oron is gone and that its been offline for nearly 2 days.
It may have to do with they havent been able to pay their hosts due to legal fees.

I'm adding this because googling this info - well it seems to be non-existent.

Oron is back afaik but isn't taking Paypal. Someone tried to check into the Hotel Amsterdam with my credit card last year, I suspect it was due to my Oron membership, so FYI.
