Starts with a .exe file (virus?) from a rapidgator link
Rapidgator has enabled a download manager for some downloads! People are false reporting files as "viruses". Originally the "virus" seems to come from the RG download manager. The problem is solved if you opt-out of "Download with Rapidgator's download manager".

The target gets infected with ADWARE (malware). Nothing serious but annoying.
