Does this site have any definition of a Glamour Model and a Celebrity for reference, for when somebody is creating a new picture thread? When does a glamour model become a celebrity?

That's a really good question, in fact I probably should have asked it myself a long time ago. Sometimes it feels like I'm basically just flipping a coin to determine which section to start a thread in because I'm so unsure, and there's probably many times my choice is not the best one. 'Celebrity Pictures' or 'Babes & Glamour Models'... heads or tails? Any insight or guidelines beyond that which is given in the description of each section would be appreciated by myself as well.

I usually use Wikipedia to decide. If the subject is in movies or TV or a "supermodel", she's a Celeb. If she poses nude for magazines and/or internet she's a Babe.

That's what I would do normally. However some of the lads's mags and Page 3 girls in the UK can become minor celebs in their own right or can branch out into singing/acting, or minor celebs then find more success being glamour models.

I think in those cases, we should go by what the primary occupation of the subject is when the thread is created.

I would suggest this as a rule;

1.A girl is a Babe or Glamour Model if, when her thread is created;
  • She is described as a glamour model or porn star on Wikipedia.
  • Her primary occupation appears to be being a nude or semi-nude model in lads' mags or on the internet.
  • And she has not had signifcant success in any other field outside modelling.

2. A girl is a Celebrity if, when her thread is created;
  • Her primary occupation is not a glamour model
  • She is an actress, singer, entertainer, supermodel, sportswoman etc
  • She has never posed nude or topless for a lads' mag or glamour website.

I think if they have branched out into other things/occupations other than flashing tits & vag then they should be considered a celebrity - an example is Katie Price who started out flashing, but, branched into writing, TV work & singing (she may not have been any good at them, but,) is therefore a celeb IMO.

Yes I agree that Katie Price would now be a Celebrity. But she would have started off as Glamour Model.

Now this is why I suggested a girl should just stick in the forum she is put in when her thread is created, otherwise you give the mods a headache in moving threads and judging when some model has sufficiently become a celebrity. We should only make that judgement once.

No, it is not hard to move a thread, so if a model becomes successful, she gets upgraded.
A good example is Tila Tequila, who started by doing photos, then got a TV show'

IMDB is mainly Hollywood movies and TV, that's why I prefer Wiki. I found Kezia Noble on Wiki, but not on IMDB.

Another thing to consider is that some pornstars/glamour models become so well known & famous that they actually become celebrities in their own right - Jenna Jameson for example.

Very famous glamour models are still glamour models though, right?

I would say Jenna J transcends her 'glamour model' label and falls under celebrity along with other near level of fame models.

For example more people have probably heard of her than some minor American soap actresses who are classed as celebs - so in my view the lines become blurred when a pornstar/glamour model becomes mega famous.

Further to this discussion, I have noticed in recent days that Danica Thrall, Sabine J. and Maggie Q. are on the Celebrities section, when I would struggle to say that these girls are anything other than glamour models.

You're probably right about Danica and Sabine, however I would disagree about Maggie Q. ... she has enough film credits to consider her an actress more than a glamour model imo.

You know I was actually going to make a thread a while back but just thought it would go ignored. But it appears that the majority of the women posted under the celebrity pictures forum are indeed just glamor models (mostly those british nut girls) I wouldn't consider them to be celebrities at all. But theres so many glamor models that shouldn't be considered a celebrity in that section :S
