How do you take a clip or a portion of a clip and turn it into a gif?

you mean an animated gif or just a screen cap?

for an animated gif you could try something like Adobe Premiere probably, for a screen cap, just hit your Print Screen button and paste into Photoshop or something.

animated gif. I am trying to take a clip of Roberto Carlos' free kick and slow it down for a presentation I have on the dynamics of a kick

Hey Prince,

I'll talk to my roommate about that. I'm pretty sure she had a class on that and let you know.

She won't be home until tonight so I'll have an answer for you tomorrow.

Prince,

OK, here goes. You need an application such as Photoshop, Imageready, Adobe Illustrator or fireworks. To create an animation you need all of the images that you want in the GIF, saved as GIF's. Jpegs won't work but Jpegs can be saved as GIFs. A good place to start may be here:

If that doesn't help do a google search using "create GIF". She's sitting here trying to explain this to me but its real hard to type and listen at the same time.

Hope that gets you started.

Does anyone know of any good gif animation dumps? I wanna find some cool short video clips that others have already gone through the painstaking process of converting to grainy gifs for me. Pimp, I know you gotta have something up your sleeve.

Either funny video loops, or anything interesting. I'd be using them for large avatars or harassing my friend's profiles on sites like MySpace.
