I know higher resolution may seem small to begin with, but its only because its different that what you're used to. After you use them for a few days you will get used to them. After a while, you will wonder how you ever managed to use the lower resolution in the first place. ;)

Higher resolutions are better for several reasons. Not only is the picture my clearer and sharper (ergo: higher resolution) , but you also have a lot more room to work with, so they are more useless too.

LCD's require 1280x1024 (as a rule) so as not to look like total ass. I dumped my LCD and went back to a CRT and 1024x768, but I will likely switch back in the future. Bigger is better, cman.

LCD Monitors rule all and there is no excuse for using CRT anymore. Sorry, but thats the way it is.

I used to use 1024 on my 17" monitor, but now that I have a 19" I have to use 1280, as you say, so it doesn't look like shit.

I bought an Acer AL1715B and I gave it to my parents. My only issue with the LCD was, on my particular model, the Auto-Adjust feature kept screwing up my gaming. Otherwise, I have a sweet 19" CRT that was not being used, so I will keep it until it dies.

1024x768 on a 19" CRT. That damn 1280x1024 is just too small for me (I have a Lay-Z-Boy for my chair , so I'm kinda far away from the monitor). I'm thinking about buying one of those newfangled LCD's in the immediate future.

I use 1024x768 everything seems smooth and crisp compared to 800x600.

Just don't like the look of 1280 or 1024 so i did the only thing an Englishman can do in such a situation, avoid a difficult decision and go somewhere in between.

1152 x 864 all the way.

Wow, alot of people use 1024x768. Personally, I use 800x600 because I guess I have bad eyes and don't feel like squinting to read wtf is on my computer. But this is the least of anyone's problems of course. Anything else is just :computer:

Screen resolution is a perfect example of Einstein's theory of relativity. No really.

For all the people who says that the larger resolutions are "too small", its just because they look small relative to the smaller resoultions. The same as how lower resoloutions look bigger, duh obviously.

So it just takes getting used to. If you used 1024 for like a week, you would adjust to it and you wouldn't notice after a while. If you then went back to 800 you would think it was huge and you'd probably miss all of your new found space and sharpness.

You could also get a bigger monitor and then both problems would be solved ;)

Regardless of the relative size difference, there's no denying that higher resoultions give better picture quality (ergo, the term itself)

Don't get me wrong. I'm not Tom Cruise. I'm not trying to "convert" everyone, I'm just trying to encourage you to be open minded to new experiences

If you don't know, its probably 800x600 haha ;)

Easy way to tell:

If the forum is too big for the screen and you have to side scroll, you're using 800x600. If fits in your screen properly (most of the time, except for large pictures), you're using something higher.
