Okay, I know there was a topic similar to this, I think, but it's probably older now and new stuff might have come along in that time. I was wondering what was needed exactly to connect my laptop to a tv so I could record something off the tv directly to it. By the way, my laptop is a Dell Insprion 1501, with Vista, if that helps anything. I think I know how to do, but I don't want to screw it up.

If ever you buy a TV-card you get the software and a connector (cable or video)
The rest is easy
Any of those programs will record any station that can be found.

Yeah, get an ATI All In Wonder (or similar) and then you just do the output of the TV to the input of the card.

There is software that comes with the card and it would be similar to hooking up a VCR.

Funny thing is I have an AIW, but I've never actually bothered to try this lol
