Sorry for the off topic, but Vista should make it very easy to increase resolution without sacrificing readabilty. As i understand it. Then maybe more people will use a higher rez.

it has nothing to do with the operating system, its all about the quality of your screen, your video cards and your video drivers.

1. buy a good LCD monitor

2. set it at the resolution it is optimized for.

3. you picture is now as clear as possible.

(sometimes they look crappy if you set them at a lower resolution, which could make it hard to read, but say you have a 19" monitor and its optimzed for 1280, then you should use it at 1280. thats what i have and it looks shitty any lower.)

Desktop: 1600x1200
Laptop: 1440x900

In addition to making sure you're using the correct resolution, it's equally as important to make sure the system is using the refresh rate your shiny new LCD monitor is optimised for.

As a general rule of thumb:

  • 17" and lower: 75Hz
  • 19"+: 60Hz

I've used widescreen before and it kind of bothers me for some reason. I don't know, guess I'm just not used to the proportions. I like my desktop to be a squarish size lol.

LOVE HDTV THOUGH!

19" flatscreen.

Anything else looks whacko, i guess its the way the screen is optimised.

You know whats bad. I've been making sites for years now and I've been making them fit in 800x600 for so long that I don't know how to make them any bigger lol.

I'm working on the new site and I considered making it for 1024. It was looking gay the way I had it set up, so I decided to just do it for 800 as usual lol.
