I found a file and tried to make a pic of her face
1160539584-Princess Blueyez.asf

I can see the movie,
i can pause at exactly the right moment
i can capture the screen (i use Alt-PrtScrn)
then Paste, Cntrl-V it into Paint.

It now shows an upper layer and a background with the screenshot in it.
I can move the layer but cannot move the screenpic. (static background)

It does not matter if i save the file as gif, jpg , bmp or tiff , if i take a look at it later it shows a black screen wehere the screenshot should be.

I downloaded some programs but they all end up with SAVING a black square however if i take a look at the original cap normally the pic is showing.

Tried capturing that pic but ended up with an empty transparent pic.
a picture that you can see thru.

I know we are talking about a dynamic livestream and the programs i downloaded say they capture this but nothing happens with me.

I have seen screencaps out of ASF files , so it must be possible.

In Windows Media Player:

Tools > Options > Performance tab > Slide Video Acceleration to NONE > close and reopen your video

that should allow you to print screen. don't forget to turn it back to FULL when you are done, because it will affect the performance.

A great program out there to capture both video and still shots is FRAPS. Plus it's free...

Thanx for that, it even works with acceleration on full
However if the movie is paused it does not seem to make a shot.
