it doesn't really matter what the historic origins of it are, because in this particular case, the only thing that matters is the interpretation of the government leaders that lead to its inclusion on the money.moxdevil said:

This I don't understand. Why is this preposterous? Lots of groups around the world have info not known by the general public. Again, I don't know a lot about the masons but I do know they have a progressive membership meaning that the higher in the order you go, the more info you are privileded to obtain. I think, and I'm pretty sure I'm not mistaken, thats how most of the world works.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I wouldn't be so quick to deny that all secret knowledge exists. There are lots of things out there we (the general public) don't understand but which some "wise men" do. Shoot, we just finally found out who deep throat was, a secret held for about 30 years.

Just don't believe it. Perhaps some groups want you to believe they hold secret knowledge, get their kicks from it. Just like the silly groups they have at Ivy League colleges. Those in power have always sought excuses to rule over us, that they hold secret knowledge that we don't is just one way of claiming supposed superiority in my eyes.

That may be true in western societies but not everywhere. There are many traditional groups in the americas (American Indian lodges) that do similar things and are certainly not members of any type of aristocracy. I'm sure the same is true of other parts of the world.

They may not own the "eye of thundera" but they have power, we just don't know why. Thundercats ho! Anyway i forgot to say that i met a freemason about 2 months ago at my friends mothers funeral. He was a straight up pimp too. He was very proud of the fact that he was 92 showing us his dl, and looked 65. Both knees were destroyed in a dynamite accident but he still walked and danced. Normally I would agree with you about these type of things but if you are correct in this argument, why was this particular square used when one would expect a normal square to be used, i.e., a square of any dimension (4x4, 5x5, 8x8, etc.) with the numbers used normally (the one at the top left, seven on second row left, etc.). Why was this square used above all others?
