Critical Issue

Today we experienced a crash of the backup server, what happen in the process is that we lost about 2~ weeks of data.

Our HDDs failed as well, and now we sent them to be recovered so we can restore the missing data from the moment of "last" backup
until the current date, it will take some time but we are doing all we can to get the data recovered.

Soon, old threads will start appearing again because we are going to slowly implement a merging system which will allow us to return to the 20th of January 2013 when this huge issue actually happened.

Our team is working even now on the merge , so please bare with us while we manage the recovery process.

Also were going to take this downtime as a critical one and were going to implement more fail-safe options in future so you get better experience , faster speeds and every bug on the forum will be removed or fixed.

This is a really huge problem and we completely realize that you might be frustrated but believe us we were doing everything possible to recover your lost threads and posts so please be patient. :)

We will keep you updated on the situation

P.S: Please do not re-post content because prior posts will begin appear within the next few days.

Recovery Abandoned

Data lost between 9th and 20th of January finally has been recovered, however we decided not to proceed with our original plan of restoring lost content for the following reasons:

  • merging recovered data with the current forum database could take as long as 8 days;
  • merging databases does not guarantee full restoration of all lost data;
  • restored content might not appear as originally posted or may be out of sequence;
  • some lost content has been, and will be re-posted before database merge is complete;
  • unanticipated problems and bugs are likely to arise from merging databases.

Instead of sitting for the next week with these uncertainties, we believe it best to proceed recreating our lost work. Feel free to contact an Administrator or section Supermoderator in the event you no longer can re-post lost content due to conflicting posts after 20th of January by other members.

We apologize again for the database cluster crash as well as any inconvenience arising from abandoning our original plan to recover your lost posts. Fortunately, I can report that a second level of backup redundancy already has been installed to prevent the re-occurrence of this problem.

Thanks for your continued support.
