Wanted to find out what viewer you guys used/liked most when looking at movies and listening to music on the pc. I reinstalled Windows and I'm only using Media Player to keep down the clutter...but it BLOWS DONKEYCOCK. Any suggestions?

I haven't found Win Media Player that bad once you get all the right codecs installed. If you Google "ACE Megacodecs" you'll find a free download that will make most things readable. I try to avoid Real Player but you have to have it for some streaming video.

If I have to watch DVD's its that Win DVD thing.

Nizzle,

I primarily use Media Player Classic. Its an old version that someones modified so that it doesn't (supposedly) have all the reporting capabilities of the newer versions. You do have to install the codecs but thats about it. I think Cman recommends the KLite Codec pack. It seems to work well.

Is that one smaller Min? ACE is about a 60 Meg download and includes everything but the kitchen sink. I should look at that. Do you know cman?

yeah, i really like the K-lite codec pack, although i dont know about the newer/pay versions.

i got a older version from a friend a couple years ago and thats what i use. it uses WMP 6.4 (classic) and i guess they modded it somehow to play other stuff. i believe you have to pay for the newer versions and i havent tried those.

divx is supposed to be included in k-lite, but since i have an older version, some stuff doesnt play. but when i have k-lite + divx + WMP (no QT or Real) i can play just about any type of file there is.

thats essentially what klite is. it installs the codecs into classic for you.
