nvidia geforce vs ati

Just curious since I'm having my vid card replaced...(it was a GEFORCE...but I'm not sure if my problems stemmed from the card...just running down the list of issues that are causing my problems, from which I mentioned in the other thread)

but....I was just curious as to which brand is the best HIGH-END graphics/vid card. Like if you run programs that use video or are VERY graphic heavy.

I want to make sure that I have the best card, and something that can handle all that.

I've heard good things about Nvidia geforce (which I had) and bad things.

I've heard good things about ATI....and bad things as well.

I recommend running 8800 GTs (512 MB) in SLI, which you can buy for around $150 each. That should give you more than enough bang-for-your buck.
