Well, thank god for the internet. It is very apparent in the US that mainstream media cannot be trusted to tell us the truth (for the most part). Virtually all of our media now are owned by big conglomerates which censor their news organizations. It sounds like that may also have happened in Sweden.
I think it's pretty much the same here but a fun part of it is our state television who have a slogan that goes something like "television free from commercial interest" and that according to them gives us "fair and balanced" television. But while fox is neo-con crap we have leftish shit instead.

Your going to have to wake people up. A very tough thing to do today as most people would rather be watching their tube or porn on the internet.
Haha, touche, we had a poll in one paper and the result of it was that 67% of the swedish people thinks that soccer is the most important thing in their lives. Well a poll is a poll. Frank Luntz anybody!? But it is quite describing of the people around me.

Well, well...time to go on with my life.

Ah, political discussion.... how I've missed you. Let's go...

As an Aussie, I wish Hilary had gotten the nomination, rather than Obama. I like Obama, he's very clever, a hard-worker, great speaker etc, but his isolationist tendancies worry me. Bill Clinton got the US back in favour with a lot of overseas allies for the first time in a long time, which GW then blew apart.
Hilary would have been likely to try to appeal to overseas countries and win them back over, Obama seems keen on closing the country down, and ignoring the rest of the world, shutting down free trade agreements - in particular going against the South Korea free trade agreement earlier this year that potentially would have saved Americans a lot of money for basic items.
But then this sort of protectionism seems to be a big thing in the States right now.
You may not see this from inside the US, but some of the statements coming out look like a kid whose friends have laughed at him, going into his house, closing the door and saying "I'm not playing anymore!". We'll close the borders, drill holes in and around our country so we can stop sending money overseas for oil (environment? what environment?) and screw anyone outside our little fences.
The world has gotten too small now. If the US keeps hiding it's head from the world, I think the world will move on without it. The US dollar is down a LOT from where it used to be, gas prices are ridiculous, you've got massive housing issues, and of course you're spending billions to fight a war you can't win.
Look, I love the US. It's my 2nd favourite country in the world, (after Australia, of course). So I hope the whoever wins remembers that there is the rest of the world out there, and the US is not the same Super-Power it used to be, and won't be again, unless someone in power starts listening.

I'm not playing anymore! Here in the States, "It's taking my ball and going home" ! And yes, Obama seems that way . But right now we kinda feel like, we're damned if we do, and damned if we don't. I don't know if you are talking about hegemon or dominance by force when talking superpower? I always thought that was a cold war thing. But when it comes to Obama or Whoever ? "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain" It's Congress that has the power, and as-soon as we elect some senators that can get their heads out of their asses, we'll take care of those gas prices, and housing issues. We have a history of getting our ass kicked, and getting back up. But, as soon as the dumb%$#@ in the White House figures out that wars today or fought with finance not military. Then maybe we'll be able to buy our next victory ,like the way China has bought us.
