Hey all,

Im using a DVR to capture stuff from tv and soon, movie clips. If I want to convert it to divx/avi/mpeg, etc. which software would give me the finest quality?

Thanks,

Mike

Personally I use DVD Decrypter (you might be able to skip this step), then I use VirtualDubMod to load the files edit them and then re-encode them into AVI...

Or, if you will never EVER edit them, you could also just use Dr.Divx....

Quality just depends on the codecs you use and the whole size vs quality thing....

Helmut, check this site: http://www.doom9.org

They have absolutely everything you need to work with DVDs. Great guides as well.

you can set the % of quality from original, can convert numbers of sound channels (5.1 to 2.0)....
simply interface with all needed functions

another vote for VirtualDub...processing time take a while, but that's pretty normal with video editing in my experience.
