To celebrate the browser's 10 year anniversary, Opera is giving away registration codes (normally worth $39) for the ad-free version of Opera. The deal is only valid until 12 a.m. Wednesday, August 31 2005 (PDT).

Go to http://my.opera.com/community/party/reg.dml to get your free registration code.

gatsby,

Is it worth it? Haven't used it in years. Why switch from Firefox?

They have to give it away because its the only way people would actually use it! ZING!

Opera is the second worst browser ever (after IE of course)

The only thing that Firefox isn't perfect at is streaming video, but there is a couple good reasons for that. One is that most streams now a days are "Windows Media" in which case they probably have some secretely embedded code that optimized the format for IE.

Another reason is that I don't have any plugins installed. Thats the more logical reason.

So other than I have had no issues with Firefox. The people who do have problems are probably the same people who complained about XP SP2 (which I also have no problems with). Just learn how to not break your computer haha ;)

CMan,

I have to agree completely. I've had few problems with Firefox and really like it. It sounds like Opera hasn't changed all that much. I do use a couple of Firefox plugins (forecast fox, adblock, and a new one Scriptblock) and find they're all worthwhile. Especially, recently, Scriptblock.

Yeah, the extensions are really cool and the expandability in that sense is probably the best feature of Firefox.

What I meant by plugins was support for Real Player and Quicktime and shit like that.
