I've seen Bono and The Police live, and while great shows, (except the Zoo TV tour which was crap) they don't really rise above any other really good lead singer as far as on stage presence goes.

I'd say that tenure plays a major role in this discussion...sure, guys like Jack White and Pelle Almqvist (The Hives) know how to rock it, but they haven't been around long enough to justify being dubbed as one of the best ever.

Agreed, but with them, you consider longevity, talent and voice. If I had to choose to listen to someone sing acapella, Mick Jagger wouldn't top my list, but his stage presence alone is easily top five. Sting plays a mean bass, too. Points for singers who can play instruments.

Two guys that would def be in my top 5 are Paul Stanley and David Lee Roth. Both are great performers and have great stage prescense.
