Well, it wouldn't be the first time. Remember planned obsolescence? Only the car companies ever actually admitted to it (finally) but I have a feeling thats what is going on here. Can you think of any other reason for the four small, very delicate pins on a power supply cable?

Its still a problem but we did find an app that can be installed on the PC and then acts as some type of emulator. It has its problems but works more often than not. I can't remember what the app is called but, if your interested, let me know and I'll find out.
