Zini has inspired me to start up my own tribute thread to all things Seth MacFarlane. Namely, Family Guy (UNCANCELLED!) and his new series that debuted after the Super Bowl: American Dad.

Family Guy is the best show ever but American Dad sucks. I hope the series will be better then what i watched last night.

Ha, see, I wasn't sure about American Dad either. But then again, I HATED Futurama when it started... and now I think it's hilarious. Too bad I waited until the show was cancelled to realize the genius behind that show. AD has some big shoes to fill.

I saw a few mins of American Dad and it seemed to me like a carbon copy of Family Guy with different characters.

The fish is the baby and the alien is the dog and the rest is self explanatory.

The only part i actually found funny was when Dad shot the toaster. I agree about it being a carbon copy of Family Guy, the show should take place at work. Have the Family but concentrate on a different location at least.

Yeah....AD REALLY needs something original...it seemed to me like what Joe's (from Family Guy) life would be like, if he had legs, more than something new...

I was kinda disappointed with AD, but that disappointment is outweighed by the fact that Family Guy is finally coming back. Maybe AD could benefit from a little less focus on the family in order to distinguish it more from Family Guy.

I saw a coming attraction for the new season of the Family Guy, and it was just some voiced-over black lines sketched on a piece of paper, but it was hilarious. It showed a crudely animated Peter hold up his hand and saying:

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, .....
whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,....

... Lois! This is NOT my Batman glass."

I'm so happy Family Guy is coming back. Shows that public and critical outcry can really have an effect on the TV powers.

I can't imagine AD lasting though, unless it gets a whole lot better. Not only was it a FG clone, it tried way too hard most of the time.

character and talking fish had me scratching my head a bit...
although it was kinda funny when the fish stuck his head between the mom's tits...

I was watching Adult Swim last night and according to those typically off the wall remarks they run prior to each show and the commercial breaks, the new episodes will start airing in June.

New Season of the Family Guy starts Sunday, May 1st @ 9pm. Followed by the season premiere of American Dad.
