Now heres an interesting idea! Make your own ethanol and wind up paying about $0.75 per gallon! Theres a bit of a learning curve but anyone with a bit of technical savvy can do it. And, if your car was built within the last ten years or so, more than likely its already set up to run E85 or higher grade ethanol. At most, you may only need to swap out a chip.

Well, if you want a new Hummer H1, you'd better get it quick. Apparently, gas prices are having an effect on their sales (although GM denies it) so the 2006 H1 will be the last.

In case your wondering, the beast has a 33 gallon tank so, at todays prices, it will cost you about $96 to fill the tank and only gives about 10 mpg.

If anyone is interested, I just watched an interesting show on the Discovery Channel called "Addicted to Oil" which was hosted by Thomas L. Friedman. He goes into a wide variety of aspects of the industry and its consequences. The point he made that I found most interesting was how we in the West are actually funding both sides of the war on terror.

Well, did everyone buy stock in Exxon? If you did then things are definitely looking up. They just came out with their second quarter earnings and its just a tad below their corporate record earnings from a few quarters ago:
