New generation of iPods

Apple just "surprised" us common folk with a new generation of iPods.

Personally, I am partial to the new Nano (infact I already ordered one) a bigger brighter screen and the ability to play movies are sweet new features. But what really sold me was it's Flash (like my gen 2 nano). The Itouch is insane!... but it's a hardrive and I don't like that...that's partly the reason why I didn't jump for the iPhone. I am extremely rough on my cell phones.

Anyway. Discuss...

The iTouch does not have all the feature of the iPhone. But in my opinion it has the more important/cool features.

Apparently they are discontinueing the 4gb iPhone which was 499 bucks and now the 8gb is only 399...weird.

not positive about the ipod touch, but the iphone does NOT have a HD its all flash memory. Id assume the ipod touch has the same flash memory as well as the nano. the classic probably uses a HD (same as previous generations)

its not a scam, its business.

but most product cycles are longer than apple's. i think the criticism mostly comes from the apparent shortness of their life cycle, rather than simply the constant innovation.

Well said C-man. They're telling us that they came up with this wonderful new innovation a couple of two-three-months after they released the final product! Which they have been spending years developing? Riiiiight!?!

Always hated Apple!?! Love the way their products look (great marketing), but they're always deceiving!?! Always liked Wozniak...a real innovator, but Jobs is a MAJOR JOB!?!

When iPods first came out I was adamant on not getting those "trendy" pieces of shit. Man I was wrong when I finally gave in I was happy...WAY better than I imagined.

I've been and ipod user for many years now and my ipod 'photo' is still going strong after 3 years of use the new versions look great and Apple coninue to find new ways to improve their product.

Wi-fi at last as well so itunes is now everywhere, I like the touch of course we knew with the iphone that this would be the next step but they need to be bigger you cant bring out a 160gb classic and then an 8gb touch.

As i have said before when i get my iphone i wont be able to put all my songs on it thee just isnt enough room on the thing so i'll have a random playlist.

The real question is should Apple open it self up and allow expandable memory?

i have a 30 gig ipod video and only have about 5 or 6 gigs used lol.

i have yet to figure out how to put videos on it (regular non-itunes videos), which i guess defeats the purpose

MY new Nano arrived yesterday...it's so fucking awesome. It's so thin and slimmed down... it's about as thick as a Saltine cracker.
