Yeah...well, in this topic anyhow. I've been sufferin' from my annual bout(s) with Insomnia lately, so haven't been able to catch many games, sadly...though, I DID see most of this weekend's televised games. (half the Browns annihilation, the packers/Jags game...which was GREAT despite the pack losing, and the loooooooong and sloooooooow ravens/colts game that finally put me to sleep.)

i wish the eagles had made an attempt to get rice though, hes still making some rice-like catches in seattle, who doesnt use him to his potential, nor anyone else for that matter

And that makes me chuckle. Left Oakland partially because (accordin' to the paper) he didn't think he was getting the ball enough, and didn't feel comfortable working with Collins--can't blame him there--then goes to Seattle and really isn't doing much of anything. Brilliant career move there, Jerry....

Drummond's a stud, one of the few possibly exciting events in a lions game since week 5. Though, i won't dog on the defense. We've got a good D here, just need our boys to stay healthy for a year. Bly's had a good season, despite his injury. S. Rogers is always amazing (Defintiely don;t confuse that for Charles Rogers, he's played what? 10 downs with the lions. Call him captain collar bone, I'm not convinced he's much even if healthy though. Williams has been far better a pick.) Aside, from keeping troops healthy, we need a quarterback who wants to win. I'm sick and tired of Harrington's "i'm happy to be here, and we're making progress, and I'm glad to have this opportunity" attitude. It's been 3 years now, play to win already, get angry when you lose. Play pissed off for a purpose.

Now...someone tell me the odds of two teams playing each other twice in a season, the game ending both times with the same score, a field goal from the same kicker in the last 10 seconds, almost from the exact same spot on the field, and having the same team win it.

Nonetheless, great game. Glad to see the Packers in the playoffs, even if they will get completely obliterated in the 2nd round, regardless of who they play.

Even though I'm a Wisconsin boy and life long Packer fan, I still have to agree with you. Their going nowhere with that defense. Seems to me that Sherman learned from the Philadelphis playoff game from a year ago when he didn't go for a 4th and 1 that could have put the game away. Instead he left it up to that pathetic defense and they gave up the now famous 4th and 26 catch to Freddie Mitchell. Today he went for it on two 4th down plays and they scored 2 touchdowns.

Seeing what Philadelphia did to them a couple weeks back, I think Sherman needs to come up with some surprise tactic for the playoffs. Minnesota does in a way too. Maybe go to a no huddle offense or go for some surprise 4th downs. Both teams best defense is their offense. I would think that you need to keep those units on the field much as possible or they have no chance. So take some risks on offense. Maybe an onside kick too?

Thought that 4th down play was in the Carolina game?

Nonetheless...I was surprised we didn't see more no-huddle today from the Pack, especially since they were trailing at the end of the first, and had what...2, 3 drives in the last half of the 4th quarter....then again, Favre's been gettin' levelled every 3rd play for a month...maybe he's just too sore.

Who're they lookin' to be up against in the first round, anyhow? I understand that somehow, Carolina's still in the running, and whomever loses the division race between Seattle & St. Louis has a good shot...but who else? The onle one of those 3 I see the Pack getting by is Carolina...but then, the Panthers have more offensive problems than defensive, so they might be able to take it too...


And on a side note, anyone else gettin' irritated that they've hardly ever shown the NFC half of the playoff race, but show the AFC brackets like 8 times a game? I mean sure, half the teams have losing records...but it seems to be the more competitive of the two, in terms of the wildcard hunt. With all those teams sucking horribly, god only knows who'll get in.

I almost hope a team with a losing record pulls off some playoff upsets & gets to the bowl....that'd just be classic. And more importantly, nobody would see it coming.

I would think that the AFC has a even more competitive because of the fight for homefield and that most of the teams in the AFC has a better chance at winning the superbowl.

i think the colts will win the AFC and the super bowl. their defense is starting to play well and that offense is amazing. they'll torch the chargers sunday by 30. how did the NFC get so bad? i'd like to see Mike Vick play the colts in the super bowl. that would be the most anticipated, most exciting super bowl in history.

What a Horrible call in the Bears Game, Bernard had that touchdown with 2 feet in, then the ref called it an incomplete pass cause the ball moved when it hit the ground. Bears should of won that game.

As for 'bowl picks....normally, I'd have said an all PA bowl, Steelers v. Eagles...and not to force TYO's leap or anything, but I just don't think they can get it done without TO. Not because he's that good, but because they spent so much of the season focusing on him as a key part of the offense. They didn't mix it up nearly enough, and it's gonna bite 'em in the ass.

So I'm forced to look at the rest of the NFC...which is just sad. All the teams are one sided. Great offense, no defense, or just the other way around. As a result, I'll say......what the hell, Green Bay.

Steelers v. the Pack, Pittsburg takes it by...14, at least.

if the pack does beat us(eagles) in the nfc confernce game i really will jump. they have no defense whatsoever. the eagles defense has been playing spectacularly since the pit game. i cant believe that the pack pulled it out, which is why i hate mike tice so fucking much. he is the worst coach in the nfl.
the teams that scare me are the panthers and the falcons, which is why i wouldnt mind if the eagles lost on purpose tonight so the rams could stay even in the wild card race with carolina, whatever has to be done so they miss it

A) I agree, the Pack's D is godawful...but, well...Philly's gotta GET to the conference game yet. So does Green bay. Hell, the wild cards are still up in the air in the NFC, so I reserve the right to alter my selections once the brackets are finalized.

B) Tice..eh, I'm not a fan...but I still contend that Tony Dungee's the worst head coach in football. I have yet to actually see him speak to a player during a game. Do his teams win? Sure. But that doesn't necessarily mean he had anything to do with it. Every team he's coached has had x number of superstar atheletes to begin with. (Tampa had Sapp, Barber, Simeon Rice, & Lynch as defensive stars, Indy's got Manning, amongst others...)

C) I wouldn't worry about the Panthers too much. They're good, granted, but they've REALLY been struggling offensively all season. The D's one of the NFC's better sets...but their offense is really bad. Not Tampa Bay bad, but close enough...

As a STEELERS fan I Like to hear that, but, i also am aware that ever since SUPER BOWL 30 the steelers have a tendency to choke in the playoffs, so Iam not gonna get my hopes up
