Opera vs. Firefox

Love Opera ever since 4 years.
My favorite features:

Mouse gesture
go to web adress via right click
and the possibility to open a tab with all the links which is useful when you want to download pics from different address

But I also use Firefox, love the awesome bar

just upgraded to the latest version Firefox 3.0.3 & I'm lovin' every second of it. Firefox beats the crap out of other browsers any day.

I had an early version of FF3 and so many addons didn't work that I reverted to FF2 for a while. But I'm back with the latest FF3 now, all the addons work very well and it's the best yet.

Opera is lot better! Right now I am Opera user since a year.

I'm just corious...how much mem does Opera use?

I currently use FF and it's mem usage is between 160,000 K - 380,000 K.

being somewhat of a web developer there is no way I could trade Firefox for anything. For the casual browser tho that new chrome is pretty sweet.

-KA-,

I'm just corious...how much mem does Opera use?

I currently use FF and it's mem usage is between 160,000 K - 380,000 K.

I just checked and I'm using a bit over 81,000 k. Have you upgraded to v. 3?

Firefox's main problem over the years has been its memory usage. Ver. 3 was supposed to improve that (and it appears they did, at least on my machine).

How many Extensions are you using (they will increase memory usage)? I'm using Adblock Plus, NoScript, Forecast Fox and Grease Monkey.

You may want to uninstall FF and reinstall. See if that makes any difference. Lastly, how long has it been since you reformatted and reinstalled? That would make a difference.

I have v.3 and I'm using only one extension. I reformatted my PC 3 weeks ago and thet's when I reinstalled Firefox.

I'm not complaining. I'll still use firefox.

And I'm not going to uninstall and reinstall it, because I'm too lazy.

Thanks for the tips and info anyway. :)

KA,

Just checked again and I'm using 71,000 k. Computer has been on all day although there have been several reboots (several hours ago). I guess I'd try a google search. I'll keep an eye on that though.

IE & FireFox

There is a site where the display goes mad when it is FireFox.

Opera is fine but Firefox is relly good atleast for me, btw mymem ussage is 90-180MB KA are you using CCleaner and some anti spyware, ad do you clear private data regulary? i know its easier not to do su but it lowers yout meory ussage :)

Now I used firefox ver3 it impress me a lot. The best thing is I can surf to any web without worry about adware or spyware will infeact my computer (IE is really shit).

The opara... I think it is the same?

Linky doesn't work anymore on FF. It used to be good to rip galleries and sort through them.
