Overrated Celebrities

Hopefully this isn't a repost but I think this subject is worth the post and should bring up some good discussion (arguments). The subject is, who is the most overrated celebrity whether its about their looks, or talent or anything. Although they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, lets say screw it and list your opinions. I'll start it off.

Angelina Jolie. Yes shes got big lips and boobs, but to me she don't look all that good as I hear. She's not drop dead gorgeous like a Jessica Alba. However, Angelina did look better in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, she still doesn't do it for me.

Jennifer Lopez, yeah i know she's probably the sexiest woman on earth. And people do say that she stinks at acting singing and some more stuff. But really how can this bitch be so famous and have all of this succes even though the only thing she's good at is dancing and looking good.(and being a bitch). I have yet to see her perform well in a movie or actually sing very good before everybody gives her respect for a acting job or song. bleh bleh !

Yeah, I agree too.

I think any celebrity that is "manufactured" and pre-packaged is always overrated. This includes most of the pop music industry and anyone else who didn't earn their fame the hard way.

A few examples: Paris Hilton, Hillary Duff, all the boy/girl bands etc

As far as being overrated, pop stars are not. Though they do get tons of attention, record sales, porn video sales (in the case of PH), etcetera, when it comes to critical acclaim, they get none. Most people realize that Britney Spears can't sing and that Jessica Simpson is an idiot, but that doesn't stop legions of 11-year old girls from buying their albums.

As monkeyman said, he's applying the term "overrated" to many facets (including looks).
Along those lines, Britney Spears is vastly ovverated even though it's general concensus that her
looks have gone to shit in the past year. Also, many will disagree, but I have alway thought that Jenifer Aniston was given too much cred. Her acting skills are subpar and she just doesn't do anything for me.

Without celebrities, some ole' Joe from a small town might end up dating the girl working at the gas station because they don't know that there are better looking girls out there. Celebrities give you hope even though you know chance are slim to none. Actually, none but that's why there's hope.

No offense to those from small town who dated the girl from the gas station.

I got one more. Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas. She tried to perform live on some show I was watching and it was bad. Maybe she can sing, but that sounded just bad. Also, she doesn't look to attractive especially, especially, especially, without makeup.

Coincidentally, I heard him say that exact line on his HBO special;

I wasn't saying that Chappelle is overrated, I just thought the context of boriqueno's statement was ironic.
I do have to say that the whole"Rick James" thing got blown out of proportion. It was funny the first time I saw it, but I never would have expected that my 8 year old cousins would be saying "I'm Rick James bitch!" to me.

I have to disagree with that. I think Sharapova just seems hotter because she has been in the public eye more often now then Anna. If you guys ever get to see the World Team Tennis, Anna would probably be number 1 again. She has got a better body (boobs, and butt) and a better face. However, we all have our different opinions, except I do agree that Sharapova is a better tennis player.

BTO.. I think Lindsay Lohan is well over rated in the looks department... I've seen some of those non-makeup pics and she's a true blue Ginger Megs!!

Rachel Bilson from "The OC" is overrated too. Actually I think even Micha Barton is a little overrated although shes definetly above average. Some of the best looking girls on that show might even be the extras or the guest stars.
