So how do they do it? It has to be a composite of satilite pics taken when there were no clouds in each segment of the pic. There is some reason there is no weather showing....

is not real time because we have snow all over the ground and it looks green

i think what they mean by real time is that the movement of the light corresponds to what time of day it is in your part of the world, not necessarily that its a live picture of now.

can you see mine? since its probably fairly close lol

actually i live in a huge apt building thats clearly visible. i found it on google maps one time.

Here's a site along the same line but a bit more useful. If you need to have your clocks set precisely (within a tenth of a second or so) make sure you bookmark this. I use it about once a month.

Its probably only good in the western hemisphere as you have to know which time zone your in. There are probably other sites for different areas of the world.
