video issues

I'm having trouble viewing some vids I downloaded. The problem with the first one is that the video doesnt play. I am using Nero to view the vid and the it wont play. It just shows a frame from the vid. I hit play a few times and nothing happens. I downloaded the full video but it just wont play.

The other issue has to do with a different video. I'm also using Nero to view this vid. I get sound but no picture.

What codecs could I download that will help with this problem?

Try to play with k lite codec

I just downloaded K Lite 2.8.1 full series. That has a ton of codecs. Now, do I just install it or do I use another programm to adapt it? My compter is a bit old, so should I use another codec series that is less cumbersome?

You just install it. It uses a modified version of the old WMP 6.4 with all the codecs added. I have an older (cracked) version of K Lite and it works great.
