Vista - cleaning up

My memory is foggy at the best of times, but before getting (forced into) Vista, I remember in XP you could right-click off your desktop and get into properties (somewhere) and DELETE all of the cookies and what I think was called "temporary internet files", with the idea that you could free up some memory and therefore the performance of your computer.

Does this exist on Vista??

Maybe I misunderstand you here, but when in comes to cookies etc, I usually go to tools in the menubar in explorer and then choose internet options, that is the same as in XP.

Just remember to rightclick under the adressline and choose to show the menubar first.

Yes, that is what I was talking about. I somehow accessed that page through rightclicking on the desktop in XP, not through options under tools.

If you have an IE icon on your desktop, you can access properties by right clicking on it, then delete temporary files or cookies or whatever, without opening IE. Haven't heard of doing this just by right clicking the desktop itself - certainly doesn't work for me.

Don't know vista though.
