Anzac Day

25th April, 1915 - The Anzacs hit the beaches of Gallipoli.

This may not mean much to those who aren't from Australia or New Zealand, but is the most important day in the military history of the two countries, and a day that gave Australia its true independence and sense of self. My Great-Grandfather was shot at Gallipoli, so I started this thread in remebrance of this event.

FOR THE FALLEN

They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,
We will remember them.

Can't imagine what it would've been like for those who served & those who fell in battle - we owe them so much, wish i didn't take it for granted as much as i do.

Having studied much over the years about war, I can say that I remember Gallipoli, and the sacrifice of my brethren. We Americans stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Aussies and New Zealanders in many campaigns. They'll not be forgotten.
