gatsby,

Interesting article. Two quotes from FBI agents that I found most interesting:

"I guess this means we've won the war on terror,"

"Honestly, most of the guys would have to recuse themselves."

Well, I guess Bush has nothing better to do. On the lighter side, since most of us here would probably be considered experts in the field, anybody need a job?

This is only the beginning. I forsee a day when there is a "Berlin Wall" or "Iron Curtain" surrouding the entire continental US with barbed wire and rabid dogs.

Alaska and Hawaii will be forsaken because it will become too hard to control their remote interests and no one will be let in or out of the continental US.

Anybody ever see the movie Escape from LA?

Think I'm kidding? Just watch.

That's just hilarious.Endless hilarous.Damnit,is that man bored? That's so SAD what this man plans...and does...
I guess it's dumb PR.This can't be serious.
Notice the last sentence:
The guidance from headquarters does not mention where pornography fits in.

CMan,

You're correct, sadly. And this is known as the old bait and switch. GW has been pretty ineffective with virtually everything he's touched. High gas prices (which I'm convinced he's actually happy about as its done wonders for all of his best buds), a war in Iraq that is certainly not getting any better and is looking more like Viet Nam all the time, an inept response to Katrina, a health care system and national deficit spiraling out of control, etc. etc.

Since he doesn't seem to be able to handle any of those things, what does he do? He assigns 10 agents to go after porn! Just seems like more incompetence to me but he does have to do something to try and bolster his ratings with the religious right.

I'm not really familiar with the Suicide Girls but....... Won't be long now for the rest of us.

Not being shut down. But they have to remove some photosets. Either way still bullshit.

And Mindido, not all republicans are Bible thumpers. Just Like all liberals aren't baby killers.

Supa,

"not all republicans are Bible thumpers."

I do know that, thats why I said "right wing zealots".

And sorry about the incorrect terminology "shut down". But the bondage, etc. appears to be a major portion of their site. So it appears that sites of similar content will be in for a world of hurt.

CMan,

It does appear you have a right to be concerned. This is really BS.

http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051008/NEWS/510080427/1039

Here's his site:

http://www.nowthatsfuckedup.com/bbs/ftopic47120.html

And I really like his intro (I don't know if he wrote it, but it sure is appropriate):

"America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You've gotta want it bad, cause it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say, "You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who's standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours." You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country cannot just be a flag. The symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Now show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms. Then you can stand up and sing about the land of the free."

Another interesting article:

CMan,

Yup, pretty f**ked up (I don't really like that word but it seems more than appropriate here). This is really starting to get rediculous with free speech a thing of the past.

Interestingly, it seems the military has found nothing out of order with the pix. They've closed their investigation:

Makes you wonder what kinda of "other" pics he had. As far as I know the Army doesn't have a policy against soldiers taking pictures in the field, if that was the case they would have started confiscating cameras along time ago. This guy had to have some disturbing stuff for them to crack down like that. Hell Rotten.com is still up.

I just spent a bit of time on the site and I have to say that some of those photos are really disturbing. I have a fairly strong stomach but I have to say that if you don't, don't check this out. I still have a queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. But if you really want to see what a 7.62 caliber (I think that was the size) will do to the human head, go right ahead.

But I don't understand why they are going after this guy for publishing these. That makes no sense at all.

CMan,

Luckily, your in Canada. Although you may want to move your servers out of the US. Apparently, this Chris lives in Florida but his servers are in the Netherlands. But they're still going after him.

CMan,

You were correct:

"This is only the beginning. I forsee a day when there is a "Berlin Wall" or "Iron Curtain" surrouding the entire continental US with barbed wire and rabid dogs."

Seems that Bush "has subpoenaed Google Inc. for details on what its users have been looking for through its popular search engine."

If that doesn't send a chill running down your spine, I don't know what will. This clown is starting to get as bad as Nixon.

It's getting worse all the time. Now he's going after Google records in his war on porn. http://edition.cnn.com/2006/TECH/internet/01/19/google.recrods.ap/index.html He's trying to revive a law the Supreme Ct killed. So far Google is telling out Great Protector of Democracy to fuck himself.

Good God this guy is just so convinced he's right and everybody else is wrong. He can justify anything. Mark my words Bush fans, this spying on citizens shit is going much deeper than we know right now. Trust me, we will soon find out that he's spying on political enemies, business rivals, etc. That's what happens when someone with that much power can justify everything he does because he thinks he's in lock step with Jesus.
