Three things to underline.

The pictures from the other one only change when the one he posts is added to a warning post.
If he were legitimate he'd join, contact us, and ask why he is always being banned.

System Admin enabled image verification to the registration process. This should frustrate bots. If not, he will install 'recaptcha', the google provided anti-spamming software.

We're in an ebb period again but the spammer is still active and I expect the flow to begin again.

Since no clarification has been given about what happened to your new spam thread I'm assuming its removal was an admin decision we're not privy to. OTB remains my preferred method of cleaning as it simplifies and shortens the removal process.

I assumed it was an attempt to either guage the volume of crap (fruitless since the time taken was not sufficient to see the true pattern being dealt with) or to try to isolate ISP information through backtracing.
But those were assumptions since we are mushrooms.
In any case, in the wake of the thread's inexplicable disappearance, I have returned to OTB which sweeps all the dog shit into the bin at a click. I shall continue to do so until the thread for spam storage is restored and we're given a decent reason to hoard all this crap.

Which is fine and dandy but doesn't answer the question of who moved the spammers thread you indicated and why. I was using it until it was deleted. I'm fairly sure Yak was using it too. Then it was simply gone.
I can't find any trace of it. No one indicated why it was deleted. And to date no one has inicated that any kind of reinstatement would be helpful.

There's absolutely no bloody point in mods of the pictures section knocking their tanks out with the added processes of moving these posts and banning these members if all that effort is going to be summarily removed without notice and expaination. All that "gauging" can't happen if this takes place and we'll have been trippling our effort in this matter for nothing.

But just for the record "anti spam meaures" are currently worth diddly. I deleted a dozen spam posts and more and handed out three infractions [wrist slaps] for thanking them this morning alone. I would have continued shifting them instead of OTBing had the thread not been deleted and had someone bothered to answer when I first asked what had happened to it and why.

i can't gauge the effect of anti-spam measures if moderators continue using OTB instead of moving posts to Jihad.

Yep. That and the Rihanna picture over and over again.
Matey this is nothing. If you look at the Selena Gomez thread every one of the pictures I duplicated in my rants were posted up to 30 times a day.
This is not an exageration or hyperbole.
The same is true of all the threads where that rant is duplicated, but they went for SG most often with new images I suppose because she's popular. And people wonder why I'm going nuts...
We have three pages here and that's just a day and a half's worth and they have barely started today. Moderation for me is basically clearing the same shit day in and day out.
It's like I work in a stable
