Imagebam blows!

Imagebam has become less reliable than Imagevenue, I'm getting almost 20% broken links on stuff that was just Dead Link Removed there today. Fucking useless host... please, avoid using that piece of shit. Rant over.

Yeah, I kinda flew off the handle a little bit there... frustrated because at the time about 20-25% of the pics weren't dl'ing. Must have been a temporary problem as it seems to be fixed now. However, I have noticed recently that Imagebam often has links that are unavailable (usually 1 or 2 per post, if there's more than a handful of pics). Kinda defeats the purpose if even one link is lost, especially from the moment it's Dead Link Removed, in my opinion. I've always hated that about Imagevenue. But yes, I have to agree that there are far worse hosts out there.

I've been uploading pics to imagevenue and imagebam for several years now and I've had no major issues with dead images and such.

I mainly using imagebam because of their simple gallery manager. It is easy to use and requires minimum effort from the uploader.

ShareNXS is excellent too...It has advanced gallery managing tools and all that sorta thing.

i also have issues with imagebam , it isnt compatible with my image downloader, bazzcuda. every other site works fine with it, except imagebam.

when you use an addon to download 1000's of images a week, having to stop to manually download from imagebam is a pain.

and pimp n host is awesome, tho i did have a couple problems with it , i think it may have been the plugin at fault, not really sure, it was just a minor error requires the pic to be re-'browsed' and added.

Imagebam has been pretty sketchy for me since I brought this up last month. From my experience (easily a thousand pics a day downloaded, so a pretty fair amount to draw conclusions from) Imagebam has fallen into the same category as Imagevenue, which is to say they lose images way too often. Why the hell Imagevenue has never addressed this problem is beyond comprehension, and I can only hope that Imagebam doesn't have the same indifference towards its users.

NOTE: ShareNXS offers hosting without going through the free registration. However, be forewarned, if you do not create an account and upload to their servers, you will likely find your uploads floating around on many of their sister sites. This does not seem to happen when registered and signed in when uploading.

Actually just one "sister" site. And it doesn't matter wether you're register or not, it's all about the file names.

But I am a ShareNXS fanboy so to speak and it saddens me that this forum might be the last one where more than 2 people use it. (since Imagebam and Imagevenue stole big thumb idea - should have been copyright protected). Still not recovered from late 2010 RCN hacking and a few top posters getting a life.

Anyawy... I have the same issue as yakovitch with imagebam, imagehost grabber also fails to download at least a few images during a session. Also they have the most ads of todays top hosts, no actually, they have more than ShareNXS but I forgot imagevenue has 2 in the bottom of the image. Anyway...

Due to ShareNXS's unique thumbs that stay the same height (posts look pretty) they violate a few forum's 180x180 rule (fe 180x200) so I tried imagevenue with video posts and to my suprpise like a week later of 9-12 Dead Link Removed caps only 3-5 stay up, what's up with that? Although, I have no other objections with IV. IB is the prettiest though.

So what I'm trying to say, each host has it's flaws and is not perfect.

Anybody else having problems with imagebam? I haven't been able to access anything hosted by them for over an hour now. They really seem to be going straight down the shitter.

yeah, im having a constant on off issue with loading....sometimes like now im getting connection timed out, it seems common for imagebam and sometimes imagevenue does this.
seems like the servers shite

imagebam has been around for a while now, and until lately I have had very few problems with them. I hope they are just going through some technical issues that will be fixed soon.

Dead Link Removed some Lady Gaga pics with imagevenue and 2 are dead straight away, not just imagebam obviously.

Imagevenue has been like that for as long as I can remember... there's probably thousands of pics that have been lost forever thanks to them phuckheads. I hope Betreid is right and imagebam is down because they're fixing that problem.

I checked imageban's support forum and found out they seem to be having a lot of maintenance problems. This does not make German technicians look good.

I don't know yet if they fixed the 'broken link' issue which has been a problem for them lately... but I sure am getting a helluva lot of annoying pop-ups almost every time I click on a pic to enlarge it now.

thats due to uploaders making the mistake of not making them SFW and making them all NSFW instead...this causes that annoying porn popup as with it being NSFW its full of adult ads.
there is another forum to which i am a member of that make it a rule that uploaders MUST make all images SFW.

NOTE TO ADMIN>>>> maybe this forum can make the same ruling too ??.
in meantime thers a wee trick (win XP, unsure on other OS's) by clicking my computer, local disc C, windows, system32, drivers, etc and then opening the hosts file with notepad then copying & pasting the IP style numbers hit space and paste the offending site addy either by the www or http:// then site name......this blocks the offending site, although the pop up will still be noticed on click, the window vanishes into thin air so your no longer pestered by said popup/site

I don't know about Imagebam, but Imagevenue will delete a pic if it's NSFW and you rate it SFW. Your Tech Tip seems the best solution.

thanks for thanks guys glad to help, was somewhat a bit of a little own PC hack (so to say) i learnt ages back as i was getting sick of popup ads by bucket load on other sites. as said though, it doesnt stop it popping up totally as you see it on click flicker and it vanish within milliseconds but it stops it loading the window up.
