sometimes when I download videos like the new Avril or brit vids my Divx player says no video track and WMP just does the audio

what codex do I need to my knowledge I am up to date
 
I've seldom found anything that VLC player hasn't played....it's free and small and works great....give it a try
 
It happended to me once, when I DL file with *.mp4, what player suitable for it? In mine, used Nokia Multimedia player, but didn't work. Try to convert, still didn't work. What seem to be the problem?
