What do YOU think happens when you die?
I don't believe in heaven or hell, I believe that we just cease to exist, when we die THATS IT, theres NO RE-BIRTH of the SOUL etc.

Please don't post stupid comments.

This is kind of getting into religion, which can obviously be a touchy issue. So we can give it a shot, but if anyone starts shit, its gone.

the same thing that happened for the 13 billion years before you were born NOTHING

i agree with you INDY---we just cease to exsist----im really hoping there is a heaven--would be a nice reward for suffering through this life---so i will hope there is an afterlife

Perhaps maybe when you die, your soul then gets transfered to the next unborn child?? Like a big rotation of life? maybe...i dunno.

Much as what has already been said- I think that when you die you cease to exist except in the memories and mememtoes people have of you. There's no soul, only the matter that was once your body, and this is simply broken down and converted into energy for something else. Needless to say i don't believe in afterlife, especially the spiritual alternatives.

we think we are at the center of universe, we even create God to be our alter-ego, in order to do what we aren't able to do, how is it possible that such an important creature finishes when he dies?!

The reality is there is nothing special about us, we are chemical as other matters in the universe, and we just change from one form to the other. If by soul you mean conscious (neurons and synapses), then because brain become non-functional there will be no conscious, and therefore there will be no soul.

Then what's the point of all this? Why are we here? Certainly you can ask the question, therefore the question is valid. And just who is it that asked the question? A collection of chemicals? Pretty amazing, if you ask me. How could a collection of chemicals achieve such a thing? Random chance?

Ok, enough questions :)

People do believe that there is something more than this life, otherwise when the first problem comes along they'd say "I'm outa here, it aint worth it." If this is all there is, then most people wouldn't be afraid of killing their neighbor for no reason at all, there would be no consequences (think about that next time you talk to your neighbor).

Knowone knows, its an unanswerable question so therefore asking it shows an element of stupidity on your half.
Do you expect "god" to logon to Exp0sed and enlighten you or something?

At least if he did then i would know i was going to heaven. Imagine the thread

"Gods Angels of Perfection"

bloody god, too old to use computers i guess, new fangled technology (do not talk to me about new fangled technology, i just got a thing about windows updater and norton says no. i really do not understand. i hate computers really)

when i die i will go to hell. hell is trying to understand about chipsets, rom, ram and shit like that. i must be dead. i am a little tipsy. i wish i was drunk.

I guess that is why he asked 'what do you think?' and not 'what do you know?' It would imply that he is after individual's ideas rather than answers.

OFFicerJACK, why need of a point? why need of the primitive idea of the 'carrot and stick'?

I take issue with this. How can you classify a stupid comment. Is a stupid comment wrong, because if so this thread is going to be inevitably filled with stupid comments. Is a stupid comment something not plausable because if so, well see above.

Also, I think discussing something like what happens when you die is pretty stupid. Until proof is given about hwat happens when you die, I have my beliefs and I'm not changing them and other people have their own beliefs and I dont expect them to change them either.

I'm not too worried about death myself. If its darkness or nothingness, its better than hell. And if its what religions preach, Im Catholic, then that all sounds better to me.

moxdevil
Well it may be 'carrot and stick', but I think of it as more like "I think, therefore I am" and then the next line is "And that is... what?" I don't believe God is just stringing us along for His own amusement. He gave us curiosity which is why the thread began.

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it's a risk we all seem to take, unless of course we aren't curious. :)

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust (after one's vital organs are taken out for transplanting, from those who consent).

Personally, I belive that you do have a soul. The mysterous 21 grams is still a fact, if this is not your soul, then what is it??
Plus, after being a first responder and hearing the same story of what happens when you die (or clinicaly considered dead) and come back, all of the stories are the same no matter what religion, (or lack of) before death. They all tell of another place happier than the hell we are living in now.

... First of all, only a small percentage say that... Second of all, I heard of scientific explanation of why some people see weird colors (something 2 do with your brain going on the shitz)...

Have you guys ever heard of super string/M-theory? Basicly it's based on these small little entities called gravitons. If a single atom was the size of the universe a single graviton would be to the scale size of a small tree. They're supposed to look like small viberating strings. Anyways, according to a handfull of physicists, this would reveal more demensions then the 4 we can "see" now... Up, down, side to side, and time.

Basicly the equations they work with reveal... More then one universe. In the sense of it being the same universe, only slightly diffrent (parellel). gravitons are the only "matter" that can move between the universes.

It's said that the number of universes, is infinite. And that we live in each. In one, one of us may be a great leader, in another, we might already be dead. Or perhaps everything is exactly the same, except this forum colour might be pink.
In one we might be dying, in another were starting to be born.

String theorists don't believe in 'death' or even 'birth'. But then again niether do a lot of normal/basic physicists. Also it's possible to disprove the big bang theory, as being the bang was one of many that were infinitely happening. No beginning and no end.

I don't understand the math behind the theory (you'd need a Phd in physics to understand). But the way they explain it, is so dilligent. Probably the most worked on theory to ever exist. Of course it may be wrong... I would like to think that it isn't though.

You'll go to heaven bud. It's unimaginable. Don't even try it. However, it's a gimme that heaven will be amazing and nourishing. Just accept JC and you'll be alright.

All the information in your brain will be deleted and your body will go back to earth! That´s all!
