PSA: Is the forum slow for you?

I would think that Update would attempt to reinstall it, if it noticed it was "missing" wouldn't it?

You can't really "uninstall" IE from Windows XP. You can remove the outer application layer through add/remove programs, but DLL files like mshtml.dll (the rendering engine for IE) will still remain. I suppose you could track down every file that IE needs to operate and delete in manually, but I'm sure it would fux0r quite a few applications, if not windows itself.

Case in point, the Windows System File Check application will automatically reinstall all needed IE files in Windows XP if any are missing. No mater how Cobra removed the app, all he would have to do is run 'sfc /scannow' and IE would be back in all its glory.

yeah, thats what i meant, but he said it better LOL

hah, well since I have to spend my days tracking down technical documentation instead of hot celebrity porn, I should contribute in the only way I can :)

If you would make a site for guys looking for a nerdgasm, that is the site I would have 3000 posts on

haha i'm a tech too man, i just found an easier job ;)

MCP, CNA, A+ (all seriously out of date and knowledge forgotten)

How does that make the forum faster?

Uh oh...I'm starting college the twenty sixth and I'm majoring in Information Technology and I'm taking four Microsoft classes...with the option to get certified in A+ and whatever else by taking tests...

What would you suggest going into after getting a Bachelor's in Information Technology? What's out there that pays good?

depends on what you're interested in. there are obviously many computer related fields.

my field of "choice" is to be a technician, like hands on fixing computers. however, there aren't many openings in my area right now, so i got into the internet stuff instead. you could also get into programming or graphic design. whatever you want.

its definetely a good thing to get certifications. it will help you get a job and is good on a resume. its how they tell that you know what you're taking about and aren't a moron.

i also recommend getting them either during or right after school, while the info is fresh in your mind. some of the tests are REALLY hard.

I switched to Firefox and I'm having the same problem. Most pictures never load for me either. I thought it might have something to do with my antivirus software because I had just switched to a new one around the same time this problem started for me, but I shut it off and tried viewing the site and still had the same problem.

There are a few different threads in the Tech forum that talk about the broken pictures problem. Too bad nobody ever looks there.

It seems to have for anyone that uses Norton Firewall (not to be confused with Norton AV), because its the worst program in the history of the world.

All I can say is the forum works fine and its a problem on your end.

I have Norton antivirus and firewall and i have never had a problem on here or anywhere really. I think i may have overloaded it's senses with too much porn though. I am about to update to Norton 2006 though so i may be cursing in a few days.

yes, the forum is slow for me

either

the databasefiles are copied to a very bizzy server
or
the forumdatafiles have been placed into another location
or
someone programmed infinite loops
or
there is maintenance going on

when accessing this page (and others) i get a warning:
"Page loaded, but with errors"
If i look at the details , it says : Syntax-error

is there maintenance going on?
