I doubt you'll ever seen Goldberg or Lesnar in a WWE ring again.

Austin commented a long while back that his match with the Rock at that Mania would be his last time as an active wrestler for health reasons. If he comes back, ever, don't expect it to be for more than a single match/feud. Tajiri as well, since he's retired to write HIS book in Japan.

The Rock...eh. the Rock's a sell out, and I might be the only one, but I never thought he was all that great to begin with.

I got into this arguement with afriend of mine over the weekend. t 'golden age' of wrestling was better early 80's or late 90's monday night wars? I personally thought the MNW's was better because of better storytelling, match quality, wrestlers jumping ship, dx nwo, and not too mention E C f'n W.

He made good points saying that ppv's were better because there were ony like 5 a year (not being overdone). I agree with that but Saturdays Main Event sucked compared to RAW and Smackdown in their prime.

Interesting debate. I think era v. era, the Monday Night War era is as good as it can get in wrestling. The storylines were more entertaining and lasted longer without overdoing it. Match quality was better, but that's more a credit to just better trained wrestlers than anything else. The 80's was all about appearance...all style, no substance. The PPV's in the 80's DID have the advantage of utilizing the bulk of the roster and giving a guy the opportunity to showcase himself in a breakout match (ala Rick Martel v. Koko B Ware at Mania 6, which lead to a pretty good series of feuds for Martel, despite being a weak match by today's standards).

The Monday Night War ere was a great time for wrestling and wrestling fans. Hig levels of entertainment were combined with fast paced matches! Today we have lost alot of the elements that made this so enjoyable, unfortunatly the biggest element in creating the MNW's was competition and I feel that will never come around again.

Interesting responses. Long story lines are a double-edged sword IMO. The NWO angle was awesome in its infancy an midlle, towards the end, it was outright brutal (lwo, nwo hollywood ... they were all jobbers except for hogan), dx also went too long if you remember. How many matches did Austiin and undertaker have like 20? But some long storylines were great like raven's flock, austin-macmahon, Goldberg's streak.

There more I think about it the 80's all the wrestlers were like cartoon characters coming to life and the cheesy storylines were what sold back then and people went nuts over that. In the 90's the 'extreme' generation the tlc matches, the hell in a cell matches, mick foley, ecw, dx, austin's language and sign language, was what people went nuts over. Just this past tuesday on ecw sandman took one hell of a chairshot and the crowd barely popped. I guess my point is that in wrestling most things are only as good as the environment and time they happened, most don't stand the test of time. I wonder what the next big attraction will be.

Yeah...but foley didn't retire. (Well, not in the strictest of terms), he simply doesn't wrestle full time any longer.

Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank and defeated the Undertaker for the World Title. Taker & Kennedy will both be gone due to injury for an undisclosed amount of time.

I have no idea why Vince loves to push these freakishly big talentless freaks. Remember that one guy el gigante or whatever that wore the god damn muscle suit? haha. I would gladly watch a match with him over this guy. The great Khali can't even talk, he has one assanine move where he smacks the top of an opponents head ( and I thought the Samoan spike was bad), and HBK can't even get a good match out of him. Now he has a title shot, so stupid.

I'll give vince the credit that, thus far, I haven't seen him give the belt to anyone nonverbal that didn't have a manager to speak for him. (Even then it was Yokozuna, who was reasonably entertaining in his day.) Hopefully, he won't break that streak here. 'Cuz I'm telling ya...Khali wins the belt and I'm more or less done, save ECW.

Great news for Mr. Kennedy fans like myself

WWE.com has posted the following Mr. Kennedy update...

WWE.com has received word that the initial prognosis for Mr. Kennedy?s arm injury was overstated. Based on Kennedy?s extensive MRI at the Birmingham, Ala. offices of Dr. James Andrews, WWE?s Dr. Ferdinand Rios now reports that the SmackDown Superstar?s triceps tendon ?was not torn from the bone as originally reported and will not require surgery.?

?He?s still vulnerable to injury and the arm remains badly swollen,? said Dr. Rios. ?I?d expect him to be out of action for about six to eight weeks.?

He's still out for a couple months but thats a lot better than 5-6 months.

Now that you said that Stingray it reminds me of way back when Austin lost a first blood match to Kane at a PPV, and then Kane lost the title in a rematch the next night on RAW.

I like Kane now, he's a pretty good wrestler for a big man. At the time though, most people thought Kane was just a big guy that came in to rip off the undertaker's gimmick. (Kane had the stupid mask, didn't talk, was the undertaker's brother etc). The thing that was good about it was that it broke up the monatany of Austin always winning and always being champ (kind of like Cena now) which ended up refreshing the storylines.

If Khali is a 24 hour champion, like Kane was at the time, I might be able to hold my vomit back for one day.

That sux for Mr. Kennedy, no more automatic title shot for only being out 2 months. He could have held on to that suitcase for that 2 months time and still been on tv talking which is what he does best.

I agree with you Nekkid but wouldn't it be great if Kenedy won MITB at Wrestlemaina 24 and then entered the main event like an hour later! No one would be expecting that! I feel bad for taker by now he must be realising that his time has come and gone! Sweet lord imagine if they did give Kali the belt!! Hell I'm only gonna watch the match to Cena FU him anyway! Anybody else think its wrong that we sat through 5 weks of promos for cryme tyme only to have them bumped to Heat?? Oh wait that what happens with every new talent that comes in!!

They are finally doing something with Cade and Murdoch but that's only after a few years and a split up. It makes no sense at all.

It is rather stupid. and what ever happened to La Resistance reuniting on ECW? They had that match...then nothing. Seems rather pointless, imo.

He was apart of the group but they were going to put the original pair back together, Sylvan Grenier and Rene Dupree. I always like them and was pissed when they split up, again there was no need to.
